Hudson hires new management team for major insurance company

Firm re-organises and places strategic importance on human resources


CHALLENGE

Legislation forced the organisation to integrate certain activities in a separate entity. A new leader had to be found to manage that new entity. Talent Management systems needed to be implemented under the leadership of a new HR Director.

In general, the organisation’s challenges included:

  • develop a new strategic plan for the forthcoming years
  • reshape the organisational structure
  • optimise processes
  • implement HR at a strategic level
  • upgrade competencies and reinforce the management team

Hudson was asked to help to staff the management team in a new organisation structure under the leadership of a new CEO, to recruit a seasoned General Manager to lead and grow the new business unit and to reinforce the Executive Committee by the hiring of a new HR Director, as from now on HR is considered to be of strategic importance.

SOLUTION

- Based upon Hudson’s competency model, we identified the key competencies the new hires needed to have to be successful in their roles.

- In order to recruit and select a leader for the HR department, we assessed an internal candidate and launched a search to identify external candidates. An external candidate was hired.

- To lead the new entity we searched for an Operations/ B.U. Manager who was familiar with the insurance industry.

RESULTS

A new Operations/B.U. Manager and a new HR Director, both with an impressive track record, were hired.
